I should do a post on this but the big name sparklers like Gusbourne and Nyetimber are all excellent. Smaller names like Westwell, Black Chalk, Sharpham and Langham offer something a bit different.
Still chardonnay - particularly recommend Kit's Coty, Lyme Bay and Danbury Ridge.
Rose - big fan of Lyme Bay, also Balfour, Simpsons, Folc.
Pinot gris and blanc - Missing Gate, Stopham, Artelium
Bacchus - Flint, Wraxhall
Other German varities - Westwell (love their 2023 ortega), Davenport, New Hall, Natalia Harris
Thanks Lynn! I've had a lot of 'why do you hate English wine?' type responses to this article when all is was doing was pointing out certain problems. I actually quite positive in the industry's long term future.
Well..I didn’t get that sense from your article. I also imagine that other wine regions could have gone through a similar evolution to what you are describing here.
Which English wines are good?

Thank you!
This is a great article, particularly the call out on lack of profitability which a lot of people don’t “see”.
