"Mezze really isn't designed for greedy Englishmen. " Nice one Henry! I drank arrack in Sri Lanka some years ago. The young guys found it quite strong 33-50% ABV
What a lovely piece of writing Henry. When I did some work for JTV (Jordan's version of the BBC) I was regularly given Jordanian arak as a gift - usually Haddad Gold. It is so much more refined than Ouzo or Raki (much as I enjoy both when holidaying in each of the respective countries) forty quid for a bottle of Musar's Arak sounds like a bargain for a singularly distinctive and perfectly crafted drink

How does the louche of Arak differ from absinthe?
I don't know. Same science behind it I suppose
